Soul City redefines contemporary dance through a powerful fusion of hip-hop and Réunion’s cultural identity. Directed by Didier Boutiana, the company brings a unique choreographic voice shaped by the island’s multicultural heritage.

Its repertoire, including Kanyar, Reflex and Le Sol Oblige, translates themes of memory, displacement and resilience into striking physical and poetic forms. Boutiana blends hip-hop’s rhythm and flow with the theatricality of contemporary dance.

With strong touring across Europe, Africa and beyond, Soul City acts as a cultural ambassador for Réunion, bridging local identity and universal themes while engaging communities through education and outreach.
